Port of Call

When I was a kid, my brother and I owned 2/86 computers with a Windows 3.1. Being used to the Classic Macs my dad had at his office, I remember being very impressed with it having a color screen.
My brother, and later I, played a game called Ports of Call. You acted as the owner of ships, and simultaneously as the captain of them all. The goal was to make money by shipping goods from one city to the next, and from strikes at the local harbor to cast aways you had to rescue and pirates, it really had everything. VGA graphics included.

Years later a young band calls themselves Port of Call, and I wonder if they know this awesome game. They're young, and very talented - and I've had the honor to shoot them a couple of times: At a band contest where they came in second (cons!), then at their own party @RougeRockrz, and finally as openers for From Autumn To Ashes.

As any decent artist, they know when it's time to take a break, so sadly I don't get to take pictures of the crossed axes for a while, but I'm sure they'll come back with even better material soon.

Back In The Saddle

Franky Four Fingers performing live at Rock Highway Band Contest 2008
Just when I got that wonderful lens, the flu and work hit me hard...
Fortunately opportunity came knocking like a train against a wall just before the end of the year: At the Rock Highway band contest, I had plenty of opportunity to play with my toy. Put up some pics - stay tuned for more & happy belated 2008!
