Dropkick Murphys & The Unseen

Long time, no post! Been under water a bit, of course not having a camera with me when we saw a school of five hammerheads. But I certainly did have one with me at that recent mohawk convention that took place at Volkshaus. They came in blue, pink, blond, black, slim, as triplets and as singles.

The kids in the audience sure had the master himself to compete against: It took Mark Unseen probably half the afternoon to put up his mohawk. Or yesterday's afternoon and then he could only sleep on one side, I don't know (my hair's too long for a mohawk anyway - even if I managed to put it up, which probably would take four cans of hairspray, I'd knock over everyone within two meters from me by just looking left).

The Dropkick Murphys gave in - no chance to win against Mark Unseen's mohawk, so they sported different styles of non-mohawk hair :-)

In related news, I got hit in the head by a white sneaker while shooting. I don't know if the kid was annoyed at me or if that shoe just got lost in the heat of the battle. But I wonder - which punk kid worth his salt wears white skater sneakers in a mosh pit?

Throwing your shoe probably is one of the things that sound really cool until you're done doing them - and then you realize that if you're in a beer-stained mosh pit where people drop their burning cigarettes every now and then, and all you got on your feet is your socks... well I guess there are some things that kids got to learn the hard way *g*

Anyway, I had fun shooting starting around the 2nd song when they actually would switch on some decent lights. Before that, not the slightest chance even with the D3. I wonder if they do that on intention - when I watched the rest of the show after the usual 3-songs-only, they had the most beautiful light all over. But well, I guess I got some decent shots from that night; hope you enjoy them.
